kakuoozan project!
came back from the interview project... it was such an interesting experience... i mean going out to the "real world", meeting "real" people who speaks "real" japanese... not the classroom type... the whole experience was just so "surreal"... did i spell that correctly?
the shop is called "aso-bo" meaning playground... in fact they sell ki no omocha... wooden toys! all the toys are imported from germany, italy, hungary, sweeden, and czech republic! the most expensive item on sale was a german doll, selling at 35,000yen! all the toys there were so so cute! those wooden blocks, nutcrackers...oh ya, they sell kaleidoscope too! doll house, cutlery, clothes... it's a really cute lil shop around the corner of the street! will post the pictures later, not today!
had a mini presentation this afternoon, presenting USM malaysia to the japanese students... BUT they seemed to be more interested in the american unis... well, i ould have guessed it right? i mean, malaysia? malaysian government has got a lot more to work on if they really wanna promote malaysia to the world... you cant even get malaysian food here in japan! there are plenty of thai, vietnamese and indonesian food around but no Malaysian food? how can that be? food haven? penang hawker food? cant even find any buatan malaysia products here in japan! sad huh?
oh ya, keiko and ayako... both english major... they seemed interested... the sun, sea, and on top of that, the multi-cultural community in malaysia... japan is such a mono-ethnic (got such word?), mono-lingual country! when my dorm mates found out that i speak more than 3 languages, excluding dialects, they were "stunned"! felt so proud to be a malaysian! this cross-cultural lifestyle that we get to experience each day... made friends of other ethnicity... was explaining what "puasa" is and "ramadan", "sahur" and "aidilfitri" to yu-ting the other day! i felt as if i am a "know-it-all" that moment! hahahah!
gotto go, teaching english to the kojima press' employees... nah, just a lil short session of conversation in english! and we get paid for that! 2000yen per hour... that means i get 6000yen per lesson! minus the subway fee, around 1600yen, i still have more than 4000yen! arghh... brought a lil torch light with me today, it will be dark by the time i get back!
a new section of the subway network opens today! now i can take the "anti-clockwise" loop of the meijo line, 15 minutes to nanzan uni! so so convenient!
you take care girl, sze hwei!
